Abstract:
The objectives of this research are to (1) assess the impact of strategic information systems on organizational performance, (2) identify the key features of effective information systems, and (3) evaluate the role of information systems in enhancing decision-making processes. A survey design was employed to gather data from a large and diverse group of respondents. Using Taro Yamane's formula, a sample size of 375 respondents was selected to ensure statistical significance. The research focused on telecommunications companies in Abuja, Nigeria, where information systems are critical. The reliability coefficient score of the survey was 0.91. The findings revealed that strategic information systems significantly enhance organizational performance by improving data management, supporting decision-making, and promoting operational efficiency. Recommendations include investing in advanced information systems, providing training for system users, and continuously upgrading information systems to keep pace with technological advancements.
